One of the accused in the Salman Khan firing case allegedly tried to kill himself on May 1. Accused Anuj Thapan was in police custody when he tried to take his own life.
According to reports, he was rushed to Mumbai's GT Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
32-year-old Thapan, who was arrested from Punjab on April 26, was accused of providing weapons to the shooters. &nbsp;
The two arrested accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), allegedly fired outside 58-year-old Khan's house at the Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai on April 14 and then fled the spot on a motorbike.
Based on the technical surveillance, they were apprehended on April 16 from the premises of a temple at Mata No Madh near Bhuj town in Gujarat by joint teams of the Mumbai and Kutch police.
They were subsequently handed over to the Mumbai police for further investigation.
According to sources, the duo told the police during interrogation that they threw the weapon into the Tapi river from a railway bridge when they were fleeing to Bhuj in a train after reaching Surat by road from Mumbai following the firing incident.
Prima facie, the duo's main objective behind firing outside Khan's residence was to create "terror", police had said.
The Mumbai police have declared jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as "wanted accused" in connection with the incident.
Gupta and Pal were allegedly receiving instructions from the two Bishnoi brothers, they have said.
While Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in the Sabarmati central prison in Gujarat in another case, his brother is believed to be in Canada or the US, an official earlier said.&nbsp;

When asked about his thoughts on new actors in the film industry, the actor referred to Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and himself and said, &lsquo;All of them are hard-working. All (are) very focused. But the five of us are not going to give it up so easily. Av five mein kaun hai (who are these five people)? Shah Rukh, Aamir, me, Akki and Ajay.&rsquo;
He continued, &lsquo;We will give them a run for their money. We will tire them out. Hum logo ke picturein chalti hai, hum price badha dete hai. Woh uske chakkar me, jab hume nahi milta, price badha dete hai. Kyu bhai (We increase our fees after the success of our films. Now to combat that, these people too increase their prices when we are not available for films. Why so).&rsquo;
Talking about films not working at the box office, Salman shared, &lsquo;Today filmmakers have a different understanding of India. They feel it&rsquo;s from Andheri to Colaba. The filmmakers that I have met and interacted; they are too cool. They make that kind of content. However, Hindustan is way different. They start from the east of the railway stations.&rsquo;

At the sprawling Strand Bookstore, New York's biggest and probably most famous book emporium, the attack brought a spike in interest, and in sales of new and used Rushdie volumes.
"We definitely had people coming in looking for anything that he's written," said floor manager Katie Silvernail.
"Some of our younger employees had never heard of him. So it was interesting yesterday to have conversations... with our younger staff about who he was and what his impact was on the literary world."
She added: "Honestly, I feel like people just came here yesterday because they wanted to talk about how they felt about what happened."
On Twitter, some users urged people to buy Rushdie's books in a show of solidarity.
